Dr. Alexandros Derpapas is a highly regarded obstetrician-gynecologist and subspecialist in Urogynecology and pelvic floor reconstructive surgery. He currently serves as Director of the Center for Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery at IASO in Athens, Greece. With extensive international training and clinical experience across Greece, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, Dr. Derpapas is recognized for his expertise in pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction, and menopausal disorders.
A graduate of the Medical School of the University of Athens, Dr. Derpapas completed advanced specialist training in obstetrics and gynecology through the NHS in the United Kingdom and earned subspecialty certification in Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Reconstruction from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG). He also served as an Honorary Research and Clinical Fellow at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College London, where he completed doctoral research focused on imaging techniques for lower urinary tract disorders and pelvic organ prolapse.
Throughout his career, Dr. Derpapas has held senior consultant and director positions at leading medical institutions, including Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, Addenbrooke’s Hospital at Cambridge University Hospitals, and REA Maternity Hospital in Athens. He is internationally active in research and academic publishing, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in Urogynecology, pelvic floor imaging, and reconstructive surgery.
