Alexandre Bisdorff did his medical studies at the Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany and acquired his doctorate (MD) at the Institut für Klinische und Pathologische Biochemie der Charité, Berlin, and finished his specialty in neurology training in 1991 in Trier, Germany and spent afterward 2 years as a research fellow in the MRC Movement and Balance at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, UK.
Alexandre acquired his Ph.D. in 2013 at the Université de Lorraine, France, on the epidemiology of vertigo and its comorbidities. He has been a consultant neurologist at the Department of Neurology at the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch, Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, since 1995 and head of its multidisciplinary Vertigo Clinic since 2017. His main scientific activity is chair of the Classification Committee of Vestibular Disorders of the Barany Society (www.thebaranysociety.org). He was president of the UEMS Section and Board of Neurology from 2010-17 and has been president of the Société Luxembourgeoise de Neurologie since 2015 (www.neurologie.lu).
