Alexandra Flamm, MD is an Associate Professor of Dermatology in the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Flamm is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist, with a clinical focus on contact dermatitis. Dr. Flamm graduated cum laude from Duke University with a B.A. in Literature. She received her Medical Degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and during this time also completed a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of Iowa.
She then completed her internal medicine internship at North Shore–LIJ Health System, where she was named Intern of the Year by her peers and faculty. She completed her dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and served as Chief Resident during her final year. She then completed a dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Flamm is actively involved with committees in the AAD, ASDP, ACDS, and AMA, with a focus on health care advocacy and billing representation. She has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters. She has spoken at meetings on the local, regional and national levels and received several awards for her presentations.
