Alexander WisemanBA, MD
Dr. Alexander Wiseman is a transplant nephrologist and is the Medical Director of the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Programs at the University of Colorado, a position he has held for the past 8 years. He completed both his undergraduate and medical school training at Washington University in St. Louis, followed by residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco prior to moving to Colorado for Nephrology and Transplant Nephrology fellowship. Following completion of his training, he remained at the University of Colorado where he has been a faculty member for 16 years.
As Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado, Dr. Wiseman’s academic interests include transplant therapies for diabetes, organ allocation and utilization, novel immunosuppressive strategies and emerging therapies. He has authored or co-authored over 50 publications and 15 book chapters and has given over 100 invited lectures nationally and internationally. He is actively involved in multicenter clinical trials funded both through the NIH and through the industry. He is an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Transplantation and on the editorial board for Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
