Dr. Alexander Meyer, in training as a specialist in cardiac surgery and Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at the German Heart Center Berlin (DHZB), was appointed W2 professor for "Clinical Applications of AI and Data Science" at the Charite - Universitatsmedizin Berlin.
Alexander Meyer completed vocational training as an IT specialist and worked as a software developer for two years before he began studying medicine at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. After his license to practice medicine in 2012, he began his specialist training at the Kerckhoff Clinic in Bad Nauheim. In 2015 he moved to the Clinic for Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery at the DHZB under the direction of Prof. Dr. Medical Volkmar Falk.
At the same time as his medical career, Alexander Meyer also started his research and development work in the field of medical digitization. The main focus is the extraction of relevant clinical information from the amount of routine data collected.
