Dr. Alexander Kirienko is the head of the Division of External Fixation and Bone Lengthening in Humanitas Research Hospital and has over 30 years extensive experience in the application of the method of Ilizarov osteosynthesis and in the treatment of more complex diseases of Orthopedics and Traumatology, performing over 3500 operations.
He is specialized in the circular external fixation in the treatment of bone deformities complex sequelae of fractures, infections, congenital malformations, polio, congenital and acquired deformities of the foot, stretching with the Ilizarov method. His hands-on experience was obtained whilst working in Russia in close contact with Professor Ilizarov himself (inventor of the method), where he was able to specialize in the application of the device on many pathologies of the muscular skeletal apparatus.
