Alexander I. Spira MD, PhD,FACP

Dr. Alexander Spira is the Director of the Virginia Cancer Specialists Research Institute and the Phase I Trial Program at Virginia Cancer Specialists. He received his MD from New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a fellowship in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Spira is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine, and his areas of interest include immuntherapy, personalized medicine, gastrointestinal and thoracic cancers and lung cancers.
