Alexander Hunt is a cross-disciplinary systems problem solver. His expertise includes testing, analyzing, and debugging complex systems composed of software, electrical, and mechanical components. By working closely with international biologists studying locomotion, he developed the first successful legged robotic control system derived from mammalian spinal cord structure. His work investigating neurological control of locomotion resulted in a Best Paper award at Living Machines 2014 in Milan, Italy. Currently, he is developing a controller to assist with postural stability/stepping for patients with spinal cord injuries using functional electrical stimulation.
