Dr. Alexander Gomelsky is the only fellowship trained female urologist in Shreveport, LA. Dr. Gomelsky divides his time between LSU Health and Willis-Knighton Health System in Shreveport. Dr. Gomelsky is an Associate Professor of Urology, the Director of Female Urology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, and the Residency Program Director at LSU Health Shreveport. He offers the most current diagnostic techniques, including da Vinci Robotic-Assisted Surgery, minimally invasive treatments for urinary incontinence, and complex pelvic floor reconstruction for pelvic prolapse and neurologic voiding problems. As one of the leading urologists in Shreveport, LA, Dr. Gomelsky's greatest sense of accomplishment comes from improving the lifestyles of women who are crippled by these conditions. He has published numerous articles and textbook chapters on incontinence and pelvic prolapse and has also presented his research at many national meetings. Dr. Gomelsky has been named the 2012 recipient of the Paul Zimskind Award from the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU). This prestigious award honors his contributions to the clinical treatment of incontinence as well as his mentoring of medical students and residents at LSU Health - Shreveport.
