Alessandra C. Schmitt MD

Alessandra C. Schmitt, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. She is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship.

Dr. Schmitt received her MD from Fundacao Faculdade de Ciencias Medicas in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She has completed two residencies in Anamotic Pathology, one at Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and the other at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. She completed her postdoctoral training with a fellowship in Surgical Pathology at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, MN and a fellowship in Cytology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
