Alejandro Espejo Reina holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Malaga. He obtained the title of specialist in Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery via MIR at the University Hospital Ciudad de Jaén. During his residency, he has attended numerous advanced courses, especially focused on Sports Traumatology. He is currently a member of various scientific societies such as ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine), ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy), SETRADE, SECOT (Spanish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology), AEA (Spanish Arthroscopy Association), SEROD (Spanish Knee Society) and SATO.
He also completed a clinical stay in the United States at the well-known Steadman Clinic (Vail, Colorado, USA), where he trained in arthroscopic surgery for sports injuries, multi-ligamentous knee injuries, anterior cruciate ligament injuries, cartilage injuries, and meniscal injuries with Dr. Steadman himself and with Dr. Laprade (two of the most prestigious specialists in the world in the field), after having been awarded a scholarship by the Andalusian Society of Traumatology and Orthopedics (SATO).
