Alberto Fusi MD, PhD

Dr. Alberto Fusi, MD, Ph.D. began working at St George’s as an ICVI funded Senior Lecturer and Consultant in December 2016. Alberto Fusi is specifically interested in how to combine immune therapeutic strategies to improve treatments for melanoma. Alberto Fusi has expanded the melanoma trial portfolio at St George’s with both commercial and non-commercial studies. Alberto Fusi works with 2 research nurses and a data manager, also partially funded by the ICVI. Alberto Fusi is also interested in the discovery of biomarkers in cancer immunotherapy and the ICVI team is ideally suited to perform such studies where blood samples from the clinic need to be specially prepared and analyzed on-site. Alberto Fusi worked closely with the ICVI laboratory team on an extensive translational research program that commenced in 2019.
