Albert Hofman MD, PhD

Albert Hofman, MD, PhD (Bert) received his medical degree from the University of Groningen (1976) and did a PhD thesis in clinical epidemiology at Erasmus University in Rotterdam (1983). In 1988 he was appointed as chairman of the Department of Epidemiology at Erasmus University, and since 1992 he is scientific director of the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences. In 1998 he was appointed professor of Epidemiology (adjunct) in the Department of Public Health Epidemiology of the Harvard School of , Boston, Mass.
