Alan Greenberg MD, MPH

Alan E. Greenberg, MD, MPH is a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the George Washington University in Washington. He is also a Professor of Medicine and Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He received his MD from the GW School of Medicine in 1982 and his MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1999. He was the recipient of the American Public Health Hero Award from Research America! in 2008, the Alvan R. Feinstein Award for Clinical Epidemiology from the American College of Physicians in 2015, and the Sizanani Award from Global Camps Africa in 2018.

His primary focus is on the epidemiology of HIV and other infectious diseases, and he has developed numerous multidisciplinary initiatives with academic, community, and government partners in Washington DC.
