Al Aly MD

Al Aly, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Surgical Subspecialties Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He is a plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic surgery of the face, as well as body contouring after massive weight loss. Dr. Aly pioneered the subspecialty of body contouring after massive weight loss and has either invented or developed most of the currently utilized procedures in this field, including Belt Lipectomy, Body and Upper Body Lift, Tummy Tuck, Arm Reduction (Brachioplasty), Thigh Reduction and Male Breast Reduction. Dr. Aly is one of only six to have received the Lockwood Award, granted to those who have made major contributions to the field of body contouring plastic surgery. Dr. Aly has lectured and given surgical demonstrations in over 25 countries. He initiated and developed the first online plastic surgery textbook and is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Plastic Surgery Education Network, the largest online plastic surgery education online portal. He is also currently the President of the Aesthetic Surgery Research & Education Foundation.
Dr. Aly received his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, US. He completed his residency in surgery at the University of California Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, US, and in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, US. He completed his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Miami Hospitals & Clinics in Miami, Florida, US. Dr. Aly lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife and two children. He enjoys soccer, having played at the semi-professional level.
