Akshay Goel MD

Akshay Goel is a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Tempus Labs and a Diagnostic Radiologist. He has designed and implemented lab-first deep-learning/computer-vision pipelines at UT Southwestern (2012) and Weill Cornell Medicine (2020), including data curation/annotation, model training, and real-world clinical deployment. He has also founded and led the product development of an award-winning cloud annotation platform for radiology AI (Radlearn.AI).

Clinically, he has expertise in ER radiology and abdominal radiology. He completed his radiology residency at Columbia University and his fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at Weill Cornell Medicine. Technically, he began programming as a freshman in high school and grew his CS skills further at Carnegie Mellon's School of Computer Science. He has developed technical mastery through multiple independent and collaborative projects.
