Akrit Sodhi, M.D, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute. He specializes in the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases. Dr. Sodhi obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Davis. He interned at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and completed his ophthalmology residency training at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins in 2008, followed by a fellowship in retina at Wilmer while also serving as chief resident. He joined the Wilmer faculty in 2010. Dr. Sodhi’s research interests, currently sponsored by a grant from the National Eye Institute, include the examination of the role of hypoxia inducible factor (HIF) in ocular disease.
