Akmal Taher PhD

Prof. DR. dr. Akmal Taher, SpU (K) to undergo a general medical education at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia and graduated in 1980. Prof. Akmal undergoing specialist urology at the University of Indonesia, and graduated in 1988. He became a research fellow at the Hannover Medical School and the Institute for Peptide Research, Hannover, Germany in 1990 to 1992.

Doctoral degree Medikus and achieved his PhD from the institution in 1993, while he earned the degree of Doctor of FKUI Jakarta in the same year. Some signs of awards that were achieved, among others; The best results in the "Integrated Research Advancement" of the Minister of Research and Technology (1997); Galamedika All Star Award (1996); Grosshardener Innovationpreis, Germany (1994); "Best Young Researcher" in the Health Sector LIPI Indonesia (1993).

He is also the owner of the patent: The use of inhibitors of Phosphodiesterase IV in Germany, USA, Europe, Canada and Japan. As a specialist urology, he was a pioneer of modern uro-andrology in Indonesia, both in erectile dysfunction and male infertility treatment in modern Indonesia. Prof. Akmal is also a pioneer in the field of microsurgery in the field of infertility.
