Ahmed Labib Shehatta RCA, FFICM, EDIC, MSc

Dr. Ahmed Labib is a Senior Consultant Anesthesia Intensivist in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Hamad General Hospital. He joined Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in December 2013. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, London; the Faculty of ICM, London; he was also awarded the European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (EDIC).

Dr. Labib accomplished advanced specialty training in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) in the UK where he worked and trained in large training institutions and university hospitals. Dr. Labib’s main interests are patient safety, ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, which is a procedure that uses a machine to take over the work of the lungs and sometimes the heart), sepsis and ultrasound. He is the Clinical Lead for the Sepsis Program at HMC and Aeromedical Service at HGH.
