Ahmed Hassoun MD, FACP, FACE

Ahmed Hassoun completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Brown University, Rhode Island, USA. After 3 years of extensive clinical and research fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, he joined the Endocrinology staff at Mayo Clinic. He is an American board-certified in both Internal Medicine & Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.

Dr. Hassoun is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology. In addition, he is an active member of the American Diabetes Association(ADA), the Endocrine Society (ES), and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE). His previous appointments included: Chief of Endocrinology, Emirates Diabetes Society Board member, Clinical Assistant Professor at Wayne State University in Michigan, and the Faculty of Medicine at the UAE University. He has been actively participating in developing and updating the UAE Diabetes guidelines, educating & training doctors & other healthcare providers, as well as conducting research in the field of diabetes & endocrinology. Dr. Hassoun is a founding member and active coordinator of the monthly UAE Endocrinology meetings, which were established in the year 2000, to encourage up-to-date education and dialogue amongst endocrinologists.
