Prof. Alkhatib is a world-leading expert in health nutrition and exercise science. He is a full professor at the University of Taipei in Taiwan and Teesside University in the UK. His achievements included successful leadership and development of major research and academic programs at the several UK and international institutions, including the universities of Greenwich, Sheffield Hallam, Lincoln, and internationally headed the Epidemiology and Public Health at the Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait and part of NCDs global consortium on cohort studies. His research focuses on the preventative and treatment role of nutraceuticals and exercise on diabetes and associated chronic diseases and has developed a number of novel lifestyle prevention approaches. He also developed age-related treatments using functional foods and physical activity models relevant for global regions including cohorts from the GCC, England, and Scotland, and East Asia. Prof. Alkhatib is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, and Executive of the Asian Nutrition Society for Sport and Health, and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. Professor Alkhatib was awarded his Doctorate and Masters in Physiology and Metabolism Sports Science from the University of Essex, UK and he is also a registered Nutritionist and a clinical physiologist. Prof. Alkhatib has over 100 research publications, including three books, and a best seller Sedentary Lifestyle, Heath Risks, and Physiological Implications.
