Agneta Nordberg,MD PhD is professor in Clinical Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet and Senior Consultant in Geriatric Medicine at Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, Stockholm.Sweden. Agneta Nordberg is an international renowed expert in the field of Alzheimer´s disease with a great experience in research in the field of cholinergic neurotransmission as well as with a focus on development of new diagnostic imaging biomarker and new treatment strategies in Alzheimer´s disease and other forms of dementia. She has pioneered in the field of nicotinic receptors as well as in amyloid imaging. Agneta Nordberg has published more than 400 peer-reviewed scientific articles and principle investigator of more than 12 PET clinical trials. Agneta Nordberg has been the local organizwer for the International Springfield Symposia on Advances in Alzheimer Therapy in Stockholm 2002, 2012.
She has received several scientific awards including 2014 Queen Silvia prize for outstanding Alzheimer research, 2013 Wailet and Eric Forsgren prize for prominent Alzheimer research, 2006 Alois Alzheimer Award, 2004 Imaging Award Alzheimer Resarch (Alzheimer assoc USA), 2002 Life Achievement Award, ADRD conference, 2002 The Swedish Society of Medicine, Inga Sandeborg Alzheimer prize, 2001 Luigi Amaduccie award in Alzheimer´s disease.
