Afra Bin Katta

Afra Bin Katta is a Specialist Clinical Dietitian and Head of Clinical Nutrition Department –Rashid Hospital; as well as founder member in Emirate Clinical Nutrition Society until date. She has extensive experience in intensive nutrition care of adult with critical care. She graduated from the University of Alexandria, Egypt with Master’s degree in Nutrition and public Health, and participated with different excellence projects in DHA under Clinical Nutrition Department., the biggest honor was win with Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Smart Government Best Public-Private Partnership Category.

Dr Afra Bin Katta from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) said: “Visceral fat cells release fatty acids to the liver, pancreas, heart and other organs causing organ dysfunction, which in turn leads to insulin resistance higher levels of bad (LDL) cholesterol and cardiovascular diseases. It’s also associated with breast cancer and with infertility in men.”
