Advait Badkar BS, MS, PhD

Badkar as an Associate Research Fellow and Bioprocess R&D Technology Lead within Pfizer, Dr. Badkar is responsible for coordination and oversight of the department’s Technology and Innovation Strategy. Key responsibilities include Coordination and point of contact for establishment and implementation of a cohesive technology strategy; Track financial commitments and operational performance against milestones and targets; and Create business plans and reports to help manage ongoing technology programs.

He is also part of the Bioprocess R&D Leadership Team responsible for planning for staff development, identifying growth opportunities and mentoring colleagues. Prior to this Dr. Badkar lead a formulation development group within the Biotherapeutics Pharm Sci division at Pfizer, responsible for: Discovery support and Formulation development for all stages of development of biologics (proteins, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, peptides, antibody-drug conjugates etc.); Scale-up and Tech-transfer to clinical and commercial manufacturing sites; Regulatory interactions with various Agencies related to drug product; Development of Drug delivery strategies. Dr. Badkar has a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Mercer University (Atlanta, GA) and an MS in Pharmaceutics from Auburn University, Auburn, AL. He also has a BS in Pharmacy from Pune University (India) and is a member of AAPS and Controlled Release Society.
