Adrian Saftoiu MD, PhD, MSc, FASGE

Professor Adrian Saftoiu, MD, PhD, MSc, FASGE has a long standing expertise as a senior gastroenterologist, being the Scientific Director of the Research Center of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Craiova, Romania. Prof. Saftoiu graduated in 1995 in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Craiova, followed by specializations in internal medicine (2000) and gastroenterology (2002).

Prof. Saftoiu has received intensive training in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, with emphasis on endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), in several centers, including University Hospital Aarhus and Gentofte University Hospital, Denmark. From September 2012, Prof. Saftoiu holds a position of Visiting Clinical Professor at the Department of Endoscopy, Copenhagen University Herlev Hospital, Denmark.
