Adrian S. Ray PhD, BA

Adrian S. Ray, PhD, is Principal Scientist in the Department of Drug Metabolism at Gilead Sciences, Inc. where he has been a researcher for over 12 years. He received a BA degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and PhD from Yale University for studies on the pharmacology of nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors used to treat HIV. Adrian is a departmental team leader of a 10 employee team studying intracellular pharmacology, transport and absorption. He played a pivotal role in 4 new chemical entities being advanced from discovery through clinical proof of concept including serving as discovery and development project team leader for the anti-HCV candidate GS-6620, nonclinical research representative on the development team for the anti-HIV candidate GS-9131 and named as an inventor on intellectual property filings supporting both programs.
