Dr. Adela G. Cope, M.D., M.S., is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a consultant in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist whose clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and surgical management of complex benign gynecologic conditions, particularly endometriosis, uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, and chronic pelvic pain.

Dr. Cope specializes in advanced minimally invasive and robotic gynecologic surgery, including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, hysterectomy, myomectomy, and endometriosis excision. Her work emphasizes multidisciplinary care for patients with complex gynecologic disorders and the promotion of enhanced recovery following surgery.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Cope is actively involved in clinical and translational research related to endometriosis and uterine fibroids, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. She is also dedicated to medical education, mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and serving as Associate Program Director for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Cope earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2014. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education, and later obtained a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Science from the Mayo Clinic Graduate School.
