Dr. Adam E. Berman is a practicing cardiac electrophysiologist and cardiologist at Baptist Heart. He grew up in both New Orleans and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Dr. Berman received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Dr. Berman completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center. Following this, he completed a fellowship in Cardiology at the Ochsner Clinic, where he served as chief fellow. Dr. Berman then completed an additional fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Duke University Medical Center.
He also received a Master's in Public Health from Augusta University and a Master's in Health Economics, Outcomes, and Management in Cardiovascular Sciences at the London School of Economics. He is board certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the International Heart Rhythm Society.
Prior to returning to Mississippi, Dr. Berman served on the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia for over 15 years. There, he served as a Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics, and Population Health Sciences and as both Chief of the Division of Cardiology and of the Division of Health Economics.
Dr. Berman directs the Baptist Heart Cardiac Electrophysiology program. Dr. Berman has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doc each year since 2017. When not busy caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and five children and playing competitive pickleball at tournaments around the Southeastern US.
