Dr. Adam Griesemer is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University-Irving Medical Center. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and performed his undergraduate studies at Harvard College. He received his MD from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2003. He then completed his surgical residency and transplant surgery training at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. He currently serves as the surgical director of the pediatric liver transplant and living donor liver transplant programs at Columbia. Dr. Griesemer also runs a research laboratory that studies transplant immunology in an effort to induce immunologic tolerance to organ transplants. He has received grant funding for his research from the NIH, the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
