Adam has 20 years of international pricing and reimbursement practice in healthcare with extensive experience in establishing global pricing and funding strategies for pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics companies and healthcare services. After a 10 year career involving sales, marketing and pricing in the automotive industry with General Motors Europe, Adam joined GlaxoWellcome’s International Pricing & Reimbursement division in 1996, in 1997 becoming Head of European Pricing and developing international pricing strategies for 4 of GW’s 7 therapy areas. In 2001 Adam joined Oxford GlycoSciences as International Pricing & Reimbursement Manager, developing global P&R and market access strategies for orphan drug miglustat/Zavesca, used in Gaucher’s Disease. The drug was subsequently out-licenced to Actelion. In 2002 Adam established consultancy ABPPC providing the healthcare industry with specialised support developing pricing strategies and supporting funding and market access. From ABPPC grew the international network PPi (www.pharmaprice.net) which Adam still heads, with offices in 25 countries. For 12 years to date, Adam and his associates have provided global coverage supporting commercialisation, planning and implementation and also offer P&R training to the industry and other parties such as health ministers and distributors. In 2010-14 Adam authored 8 publications and has presented at 6 conferences on such as pricing and orphan drug access, including at ISPOR where Adam chaired the 2010 Educational Symposium on orphan drug funding.
