Adam Bailis is a Professor College of Health Professions at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. He is also an Associate Dean at Thomas Jefferson University. Adam Bailis studies the genetic and molecular control of genome stability in eukaryotes using the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model system. His work has uncovered several of the mechanisms that permit the maintenance of genome structure following exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals. These findings are being translated into the development of the next generation of targeted cancer therapeutics.
