Dr. Abhishek Chaturvedi obtained his primary medical degree and completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Rajasthan, India. After successfully completing his residency, he spent a few years as a consultant radiologist at a semi-academic diagnostic imaging center in Jaipur, India. His passion for academic radiology brought him to the University of Washington, Seattle in 2007. Dr. Chaturvedi completed postdoctoral/ subspecialty fellowships in Abdominal Radiology, Cardiovascular & Body MRI and Cardiothoracic Imaging over a period of 4 years between 2007 and 2011. He obtained his American Board of Radiology certification in 2011 and was awarded the Cardiac CT Certificate of Advanced Proficiency (CoAP) from American College of Radiology in 2012.
Dr. Chaturvedi specializes in the diagnostic imaging pertinent to thoracic and abdominal diseases. He has been invited to speak at local, regional, national and international meetings. He work has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Most recently, in 2013, his exhibit dedicated to imaging complications from extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) won a cum Laude award at the Radiological society of North America (RSNA) meeting in Chicago.
His current research interests focus on Cardiovascular MRI in preoperative evaluation of patients undergoing trans- catheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). He is also actively working towards optimizing radiation dose protocols in patients undergoing chest CT exams, and is assessing the usefulness of imaging in pleural disease.
He is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Radiology, North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, Radiological Society of North America, and American Roentgen Ray Society.
