Abhinav Agrawal MD

Dr. Agrawal is the Director of Interventional Pulmonology & Bronchoscopy and an assistant professor of medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He recently completed his Interventional Pulmonology fellowship at the University of Chicago and his Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at Northwell Health, where he was a chief fellow. He finished his residency at Monmouth Medical Center, where he was also a chief resident. His expertise includes rigid bronchoscopy, flexible bronchoscopy, navigation bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, endobronchial valve placement, percutaneous tracheostomy, and pleural procedures such as thoracoscopy and tunneled pleural catheter placement. He is also a testamur of the national board of Echocardiography and received the distinguished CHEST Educator award for serving as a faculty for point-of-care thoracic and critical care ultrasonography. Dr. Agrawal has authored numerous original research articles, review articles, and editorials as well as written book chapters related to his field of expertise. His primary research interests include benign and malignant pleural diseases, benign and malignant central airway obstruction, diagnosis and management of lung cancer as well as thoracic and critical care ultrasonography. He currently is a principal investigator/co-investigator in various clinical trials related to diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy as well as diagnosis and management of pleural diseases.
