Dr. Aakriti Gupta, MD, MSc, is an accomplished interventional and structural cardiologist serving as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology in the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, where she specializes in advanced transcatheter and coronary interventions.
Dr. Gupta earned her medical degree from Panjab University in India and completed her residency in internal medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. She went on to complete both her general cardiology fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, with further advanced training in structural heart disease interventions.
At Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Gupta’s clinical expertise includes transcatheter valvular therapies (such as TAVR and percutaneous mitral and tricuspid procedures) and complex coronary interventions. She combines high-impact clinical practice with active scholarship, having authored numerous scientific publications in top cardiovascular journals.
In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Gupta is deeply engaged in cardiovascular research focused on improving outcomes through data-driven approaches and the integration of digital technologies. She is a co-founder of iCardio.ai, an AI-driven platform for enhanced echocardiographic interpretation, and serves as an Executive Associate Editor for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), where she contributes to advancing cardiovascular science and research dissemination.
