Aakriti Garg Shukla is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wills Eye Hospital / Jefferson University. She is a Board-Certified and Fellowship-Trained Ophthalmology.
Dr. Shukla completed her undergraduate studies as a Trustee Scholar at the University of Southern California. She obtained her Medical Degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and stayed on for her ophthalmology residency. She completed advanced training in glaucoma at the Wilmer Eye Institute / Johns Hopkins University. She has received several awards throughout her training including the Edith and Denton McKane Memorial Award for Outstanding Research in Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society Bernard Schwartz Memorial Award, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Best Paper Award in Glaucoma.
Her research is funded by a Mentoring for Advancement of Physician Scientists Grant given by the American Glaucoma Society. Her research interests include imaging in glaucoma, optimization of surgical outcomes, and vision-related quality of life. She is passionate about trainee education in the clinic and operating room and is committed to excellent clinical care.
