Akella Radha Rama Devi MBBS, MD

Radha Rama Devi is a postgraduate in Pediatrics from Andhra Medical College, Vizag, and is the recipient of a number of Awards and Medals like the President's Medal in MBBS, Gold Medal in Medicine, etc. A holder of a certificate in Genetic Engineering from IISc, Bangalore, she has worked as a Medical Officer at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore (1977-94). She was instrumental in setting up the first Neonatal Screening in India. 

Radha has published in National and International Journals in the fields of Inbreeding, Neonatal Screening, and Metabolic Disorders and has presented her work at the IInd International Conference on Neonatal Screening in Japan and the 4th Asia Pacific Conference on Neonatal Screening in Manila, Philippines (2001). Her special interests are in Inborn Errors of Metabolism. She was awarded the National Women Bio-Scientist (Senior) award in the year 2005 by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
