Target Audience:
The Advanced Neonatal Life Support (ANLS) Provider Course is the evidence-based Neonatal Resuscitation Program designed by the American Academy of Pediatrics in association with the American Heart Association for healthcare professionals whose responsibilities may require them to manage or participate in the resuscitation of a newborn.

Course Structure:
ANLS is a practical, case-based neonatal resuscitation program that will enhance one's skills in the evaluation and management of a newborn at birth. Ideal performance is initially demonstrated via video and Instructor. Learning is facilitated by extensive hands-on practice, with each candidate getting several opportunities to participate in simulated clinical scenarios, guided by positive and constructive feedback.
Aims and Objectives:
Candidates will be able to perform the initial steps in neonatal resuscitation and appropriately use resuscitation devices for neonatal ventilation. Participants will be able to demonstrate the techniques of chest compressions, endotracheal intubation and the use of medications at birth. Candidates will have an understanding of special considerations at birth, including preterm infants, ethics and care at the end of life.

Candidates will be able to identify and treat ischaemic chest pain, expedite the care of acute coronary syndromes and stroke, and provide effective initial care and transfer to reduce disability and death.
