The board of WCS Knowledge Center Wound Care consists of 9 people. All board members perform their duties in addition to their regular job and participate in the board based on their specific areas of expertise and/or competences.

The board is supported by various committees with a focus on pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic foot, dermatology, surgical wound/stoma, burns and oncological wounds. The WCS Science Committee is being established. The committees are led by a board member. Members of the committees are often content experts and also contribute to the editorial board, teaching staff, organization of the WCS Congress, editing the digital wound book, etc.

WCS Knowledge Center Wound Care aims to increase the knowledge level of healthcare professionals, in order to improve the quality of wound and skin care. The WCS seeks to achieve this goal by, among other things:
• arranging of courses, conferences, symposia, refresher courses and lectures;
• Publishing publications, including WCS Nieuws and the WCS Wondenboek;
• Promoting and stimulating research;
• Propagating the WCS Classification Model to structure wound treatment;
• All other actions related to or conducive to the above.
