The World Spinal Column Society’s mission is to advance spine care worldwide by connecting spine surgeons in advanced and emerging nations through high quality education, training, and collaborative activities.
To begin with, I would like to thank the World Spinal Column Society’s Executive Board for allowing me the honour to serve as President. The World Spinal column society has come a long way over the last 18 years. This history and the invaluable contribution of the society’s past leaders must never be forgotten.
I hope to fulfill the huge responsibility of living up to the excellent standards set by preceding presidents to the best of my ability. As Covid-19 has taken over the world, the challenges facing the Society and surgeons worldwide has also changed drastically. The next two years definitely pose a great challenge for us, as we aspire to unite experts in the field of spine under one banner and work towards the betterment of spinal care across the globe. We intend to collaborate with other international societies like WFNS, MESS, ACNS, PSN, NASS, AO Spine, Euro spine and MISS to provide quality education in basic and advanced spinal surgery, in the form of various hands-on workshops and scientific sessions.
