West Virginia Pharmacists Association (WVPA)

Welcome to the West Virginia Pharmacists Association, a statewide professional organization representing the interests of licensed pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy students.

Originally founded in the late 1890’s as the West Virginia Pharmaceutical Association, Their mission is to promote and assure the health and wellness of the public by enhancing the professional skills and knowledge of Their members

The organization changed its name to West Virginia Pharmacists Association in 1974 to more appropriately reflect its representation of pharmacists practicing in the various professional settings. WVPA has become a strong patient advocate over the years to help assure the public receives appropriate and quality pharmaceutical care.

WVPA is very active in legislative and governmental issues. It initiated major advances in the Pharmacy Practice Act, bringing an antiquated law up to today’s standards. WVPA also actively represents pharmacy before state agencies.
