Founded in 2008, the West Virginia Oncology Society (WVOS) is the largest oncology professional organization in the state. WVOS comprises a powerful community of oncologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary care providers involved in the treatment of patients with cancer.
Mission:
To carry out their mission, they strive to:
• Improve the quality of oncology care available to the people of West Virginia;
• Support oncology education and facilitate the development and use of new cancer management techniques in the community;
• Serve as a leader in the oncology field, representing our members and the local community at state and national events;
• Provide access to scientific, socioeconomic, clinical, and other relevant data; and
• Promote collegial relationships among oncology professionals in West Virginia.
Goals:
• Advocate on state and federal legislative issues impacting patient access to care;
• Provide an education forum for Their members on the current technologies and medical best practices in cancer care delivery; and
• Communicate changes and updates in oncology practice to Their members and the broader community.
