United Kingdom Neuro-ophthalmology Society (UKNOS)

UK Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (UKNOS) was established in 2019 by Ophthalmologists & Neurologists working in Neuro-Ophthalmology across the UK.

It evolved from the UK Neuro-Ophthalmology Special Interest Group (UKNOSIG) which was the first Special Interest Group within the Association of British Neurologists (starting something of a trend). UKNOSIG was founded by Dr Gordon Plant in 2005 to meet the need for a national organisation committed to research and continuing professional development in Neuro-Ophthalmology. Mission:
Neuro-Ophthalmology is a subspecialty concerned with symptoms and syndromes that may present to either Neurology or Ophthalmology but requires the skills and expertise of each to best understand and manage them.

UKNOS was formed to bring together Neurologists and Ophthalmolgists working at the intersection of those two disciplines to facilitate research and education in this area, to improve clinical care and to share respective expertise and stories.
