Turkish Biochemistry Association (TBD) was established in Ankara in 1975 to gather all researchers working in the field of basic and applied biochemistry (clinical biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, molecular medicine, bioinformatics, etc.) under the same umbrella. Aiming to create and support professional solidarity, knowledge sharing and scientific collaborations among its members through the scientific activities it organizes in related fields, the Association also works to ensure the advancement of biochemistry science in our country and to improve biochemistry education at undergraduate and graduate levels. Improving patient care by providing training on competence, quality and accreditation in order to increase the service standards of medical laboratories is one of the main areas of interest of the Association. TBD has become one of the leading national associations in Turkey with its more than 2,000 members and branches in three big cities such as Istanbul, Izmir and Adana. The association accepts graduate students and all other researchers in the field of basic and applied biochemistry, as well as biochemists living in foreign countries as long as they are Turkish citizens.
