Trauma Education Essential Inc.

Trauma Education Essentials Inc. was formed in 2017 by Dr. Colin Ross and Dr. Dana Ross, who are both psychiatrists, and also father and daughter. Its purpose is to provide trauma-focused educational webinars and resources to health professionals and related organizations. The founders have focused on teaching, training and education in their careers, through direct in-house education of students, interns, residents, and professionals, and through public speaking and writing.

The prevalence of trauma in their society is unacceptably high, and people who have experienced trauma can find it difficult to access trauma-focused and/or trauma-informed treatment. They hope to contribute to building capacity in the health care system by providing educational opportunities for health professionals to learn more about all aspects of complex trauma. Their speakers will include those engaged in clinical work, research, and advocacy, as well as experts who can speak to larger health systems issues. Their webinars and courses are rooted in a trauma-informed approach which rests on principles of safety, choice, collaboration, inclusivity, and empowerment.
