The Korean Society of Spine Surgery (KSSS)

The Korean Society of Spine Surgery is an organization that provides a forum for the exchange of ideas between health care professionals so as to promote research in spinal surgery.

The society was founded in 1984 and has since become the longest-running organization specializing in the spine in Korea, while the number of registered members and published papers are still growing steadily. It holds an annual meeting twice a year in spring and autumn and provides instructional courses for surgeons and related professionals on a yearly basis.

The organization publishes two journals in two languages, which are The Journal of the Korean Society of Spine Surgery written in Korean and the Asian Spine Journal written in English.

The Korean Society of Spine Surgery endeavors to create optimal care for patients with spinal diseases through education for both professionals and patients as well as the support of research by its members in the name of advancing the academic field of spinal surgery.

Vision:
Korean Society of Spine Surgery has continuously tried to contribute to health promotion of human beings through researches and development of treatment for spinal disorders during 30 years since its foundation in 1984. For the next decade, they will proceed to the future, driving 3 strategies of ‘Globalization of the society’, ‘Communication with the people’, and ‘Reinforcement of individual member’s creative capabilities’ and 10 priority projects aimed at being a society of public trust and scientific leadership.
