Swiss Society for Geriatrics / Schweizerische Fachgesellschaft fur Geriatrie, Societe Professionnelle Suisse de Geriatrie, societa Professionale Svizzera di Geriatria (SFGG SPSG)

The Swiss Society for Geriatrics SFGG is the professional organization (professional organization) of physicians with the specialist title FMH for general medicine and internal medicine with completed (= full members) or current (= temporary members) focus training in geriatrics (geriatric) and other geriatric interested physicians (= associate members). It was founded in 1992 under the umbrella of SGG-SSG and has been an independent association since 1.1.2003.

The SFGG sees itself as a sister company of the SGG , with a defined membership of its members at the SGG; as a subsidiarythe Swiss Society of General Medicine (SGAM) and the Swiss Society of Internal Medicine (SGIM) for continuing education and training in the sense of the statutes of the FMH; as an association that is capable of achieving the goals and tasks of FMH.
