The Sudanese Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (SAOMS), founded in 2000, is the membership organization representing the discipline of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Experts who are board certified by the Sudanese Medical Council (SMC) as specialists or consultants are the primary contributors to professional education programs and scholarly activity in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. SAOMS, in accordance with its vision and mission, advocates optimal oral and maxillofacial health and health care for anyone with oral and maxillofacial manifestation of medical illness. SAOMS’s advocacy activities take place within the broader health care community and with the public at local, regional, and national levels. Clinician Guidelines are one of the components of the SMC’s & SAOMS’s advocacy activities.
