The Spine Society Australia (SSA) facilitates the exchange of ideas, dissemination of scientific and clinical knowledge concerning spinal disease and disorder. The outcome being advancement of the quality and expertise of spinal professionals. SSA’s objective is to improve the means of communication and support research for men and women involved in the medical and scientific study, investigation and treatment of spinal disease and disorder. SSA strives to obtain and maintain affiliation with relevant national and international organisations. The SSA also aims to provide the public with education and insights into maintaining a healthy spine.
Mission:
• To form an educational organisation dedicated to the exchange of ideas and dissemination of scientific and clinical knowledge concerning spinal disease and disorder, aspiring to be the peak body representing clinicians and researches in the management of spinal disorders in Australia;
• To advance the quality of and encourage research into the management of spinal disease and disorder;
• To improve the means of communication and support for those involved in the medical and scientific study and investigation and treatment of spinal disease and disorder;
• To maintain prestigious status for the organisation and to obtain affiliation with other major national speciality associations and with International Spine Societies;
• To provide education and training in spinal surgery and rehabilitation; and
• To act as an advocate in respect of furthering scientific and clinical knowledge concerning spinal disease and disorder.
