Spanish Society of Rheumatology / Sociedad Espanola de Reumatologia (SER)

The Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SER) is a non-profit scientific association whose purpose is: to promote knowledge of rheumatic pathologies -diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue-, promoting medical training, developing works, studies and research projects in Rheumatology; and promote the dissemination and knowledge of these conditions among the general population.

In addition, the SER watches over the general interests of rheumatologists within Medicine as a profession, seeks to improve the specialty, and provides support to patients with rheumatic diseases through its relationship with patient associations, always with the goal of improving your quality of life.

Currently, the SER represents more than 1,950 health professionals, most of them rheumatologists, although there are also partners from other specialties related to rheumatic diseases such as Nursing, Biology, Physiotherapy, etc. The Spanish Society of Rheumatology maintains alliances with other organizations of interest and, in particular, has a close relationship with the autonomous societies of Rheumatology throughout the country, with EULAR (European League against Rheumatisms) and with other international societies of Rheumatology.

Mission:
Provide all the agents involved with the necessary instruments to improve the quality of life of patients:
• Guaranteeing the best assistance through training, teaching and research.
• Improving the knowledge and visibility of these diseases in the Society and its Institutions.
• Influencing the areas of decision on them.

Vision:
Position Rheumatology as the reference medical specialty for rheumatic diseases: musculoskeletal and systemic autoimmune diseases.
