Spanish Society of Emergency Medicine and Emergencies / Sociedad Espanola de Medicina de Urgencias y Emergencias (SEMES)

The Spanish Society of Emergency and Emergency Medicine (SEMES), founded in 1987, included in its founding purposes all those aspects that affect such an important and necessary part of Medicine.

Likewise, it became sensitive to the reality and needs of the patients; For this reason, in addition to the Emergency and Emergency doctors, the Emergency and Emergency nursing groups and the Health Emergencies technicians were included. As for the group of Emergency and Emergency doctors, it is the second in number of professionals within the medical community in Spain.

In addition, SEMES is an independent, non-profit entity .

Their main purposes are the following:
1. Promote the existence of assistance systems for emergencies and health emergencies that provide coverage to the entire population.

2. Ensure quality in emergency assistance and emergencies. 3. Promote the continuous training of health and non-health personnel in these disciplines. 4. Promote the dissemination of basic knowledge of emergency medicine and emergencies to the rest of the health and non-health personnel and the population in general.
